Jimmy is a Virginia native who grew up in Varina, but has called Hanover County home for more than 25 years. He moved to Hanover because of “the community and tradition”. In 2018, Jimmy opened his own business here – RBI Services. Jimmy is very proud of his volunteer work which includes chair of the Sophie House and VET Fund, secretary of Medical Home Plus, member of the CJ’s Thumbs Up Foundation, and he serves on the advisory councils of the Richmond Justice Initiative and United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS). He was named UNOS’s 2016 Volunteer of the Year.
Upon accepting the nomination as a Hanover HERO, Jimmy said “it’s a great opportunity for me to give back to my community and help a family take a positive step forward.”
Jimmy graduated from the University of Mary Washington with a bachelor’s degree and he received his masters from the University of Richmond. He is married to Amy Comer, a teacher in the Hanover County Public School system. They have two daughters, Meghan and Eryn. Jimmy considers his greatest achievement to be “having my daughters watch me graduate twice with my college degrees.”
