What is Youth United All About?
 
Hanover Habitat for Humanity invites youth, ages 5-25, to work together to fund and build homes in their own community.  Youth United targets young, enthusiastic volunteers to build homes, develop leadership skills, engage in positive service activities and experience the joy of helping others.
 
What Are the Best Reasons to Participate?
 
P    It benefits Hanover County.
Young people energized by community service will become dynamic community members and leaders.  Habitat for Humanity projects can unify diverse racial, political, religious and ethnic groups, and build lasting relationships that strengthen individuals and communities.
 
P    It benefits each young person involved.
Working with Habitat for Humanity is a great way for young people to put their energy and commitment to good use and realize that they can make a tangible difference in the lives of others.
 
P    It benefits local families currently living in poverty housing.
Thanks to this new group of Habitat volunteers, another family in Hanover County already enjoys the blessings of a simple, decent home.
 
What Are the Highlights?
 
Hanover County completed the first Youth United house in November 2004.  
 
Volunteers are signing up now to be a part of the second build.  Come and be a part of this groundbreaking initiative!
