Habitat Board President John Suddarth joins
the Morgan family in the ceremonial ground breaking ceremony

Wendy says, "I have always wanted to give my children a stable home, and thanks to Habitat, that dream is finally becoming real. We are so grateful for this opportunity. It means the world to us!"

Family, friends, teachers, neighbors, supporters, volunteers, and community members all came out on February 4th to celebrate the home's groundbreaking with the Morgans.

The family attends Sandston Baptist Church and Mark Poland, their Minister of Worship, led the Groundbreaking Ceremony.  "We are delighted to share the excitement of the Morgan's new home with them. When something this wonderful happens ot members of our congregation, we all celebrate.  The Morgans are a very close-knit, deserving family and we couldn't be happier for them", said Pastor Poland.

The Morgan family home will be located in beautiful Ashland, VA.  In May, 69 women volunteered on the family's home for National Women Build Week. Women from community businesses, social groups, and churches came together to help construct a home for this deserving, hard working family. Wendy said "I am thrilled that so many ladies are coming together to help out. I can't wait to participate, and it will set a really positive example for my daughter about how women can work together and accomplish anything." Many other churches, businesses, and individuals have also donated hundreds of hours of their time to completing the home.  The Morgan family and friends have been working hard on their home as well, completing the required 200 sweat equity hours.

We are excited to be nearing the completion of the Morgan's home, Hanover Habitat's 40th here in Hanover County.
